5G Testing Launched in Odessa

By: delo.ua|2026/09/10 10:19:25

In Odessa, pilot testing of 5G mobile communication has begun. The average data transfer speed is 600–700 Mbps, with a maximum that can exceed 1 Gbps. Odessa has become the next city in the expansion of the pilot project after Lviv, Borodyanka, Kharkiv, and Kyiv. 5G takes on part of the mobile traffic, reducing the load on LTE networks, which helps maintain stable connections in areas with a large number of users. Smartphones that support 5G automatically connect in the coverage area. If this does not happen, it is recommended to check the mobile network settings, update the operating system, and disable battery saver or mobile traffic modes. To re-register on the network, you can turn airplane mode on and off or restart the device. In July, pilot 5G was launched in the center of Kyiv, covering the central part of the capital.
