The routing capacity and the number of active channels in Bitcoin's Lightning Network show resilience, despite the recent indefinite suspension of operations by the Boltz platform due to automated attacks using artificial intelligence (AI). On August 3, 2026, Boltz announced its closure in response to the increasing threat of attacks on its servers. However, the data analysis firm Amboss indicated that the observed reactions are changes in specific nodes and do not reflect a macro trend. Although some exchanges like Boltz and Zeus have halted their operations, others continue to function and show growth. The total capacity of the Lightning Network is on the rise, with a shift towards private payment channels that handle larger volumes. An example is the liquidity provider LNBIG, which shut down a node and reduced its capacity to zero, while other nodes experienced an increase in their capacity. The total node count has stabilized, suggesting that the reduction of nodes is an exception rather than the dominant trend. Despite the security challenges posed by AI attacks, the Lightning Network remains steadfast.

Revolut ends support for USDT across the EEA and Switzerland on 31 August 2026: any balance still in the app is automatically converted into the account's main currency at what Revolut calls the current market rate, with the customer controlling neither the rate nor the timing. Buying already stopped on 6 July and deposits after 30 July, leaving an in-app sale or a withdrawal to a wallet you control as the choices before the deadline.

The deadline for the Base, Early Lump-Sum and Intermediate Repayments in the Mt. Gox civil rehabilitation is 31 October 2026 (JST), set by the Rehabilitation Trustee's notice of 27 October 2025 with the permission of the court. The trustee's own notices record five changes to that deadline, not three, and state no consequence for the 2026 date passing.
