Ark Invest founder Cathie Wood stated that the high bandwidth memory (HBM) boom may be short-lived, as HBM is the most cyclical and commoditized part of the semiconductor supply chain. Cerebras and Groq do not rely on HBM, indicating that this demand can be optimized through engineering means. Wood pointed out that in the tech sector, a price increase of three, four, or even ten times is usually a negative signal rather than a normal state.
