Clearlake Capital is partnering with Databricks and West Monroe to expand the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in its portfolio companies. They plan to build a data platform that encompasses everything from investment discovery to corporate operations. In an announcement on July 14, Clearlake stated that it will combine Databricks' platform with West Monroe's execution capabilities. The new platform will be utilized for investment discovery, due diligence, fund operations, and portfolio company transformations. This collaboration focuses on accelerating the integration of data, analytics, and AI capabilities in portfolio companies, with plans to consolidate scattered data from various investment targets to enhance investment decisions and operational improvements. Clearlake, founded in 2006, is a global alternative investment firm with over $185 billion in assets under management. On June 16, it announced the raising of $14.8 billion for its eighth flagship fund, highlighting AI-driven transformations, software modernization, digital transformation, and operational efficiency as key investment themes. While OpenAI is also expanding AI adoption in corporate settings, there has been no confirmation of direct participation in Clearlake's portfolio.
