Cloudflare Launches Kitesurf, a Browser Designed for AI Proxies

Cloudflare has launched Kitesurf, a cloud-hosted browser specifically designed for AI proxies. Kitesurf can navigate websites, fill out forms, and complete other browser-based tasks just like a human. Unlike traditional browsers, Kitesurf focuses on contextual windows, performance, token costs, and scalability, enabling it to handle various threat models, including prompt injection attacks. This browser is built on Cloudflare's Workers serverless platform and took 12 weeks to develop, with a free beta version available. Kitesurf is more CPU and memory efficient than Chromium for common proxy tasks such as screenshotting and HTML extraction, having passed approximately 215,000 web platform tests.
