Deadline for Pi Network Mainnet Protocol 26 Upgrade Set for August 11

The deadline for the Pi Network's Mainnet Protocol 26 upgrade has been set for August 11. The issue of whether node operators will update their software has emerged as a point of contention, as outdated nodes may be excluded from network participation if they are not compatible with the new protocol. Protocol 26 is presented as part of a technical update leading to Protocol 27, and outdated nodes that do not adhere to the new rules may be excluded from the mainnet synchronization and validation processes. This matter necessitates a distinction between simple holders and node operators, and there is no evidence to suggest that the Pi coins of casual app users will disappear. However, those operating nodes should check the latest guidance from official apps and channels. The Pi Network has also recently conducted experiments on slice distribution and liquidity pool price tracking, but this report on Protocol 26 is primarily concerned with mainnet node compatibility issues. Currently, the impact of the mainnet upgrade on the price of Pi coins and exchange liquidity has not been confirmed.
