Defimon Detects Vulnerability in Enjin, Resulting in Losses of Approximately $142,000
Prefer us on GoogleDefimon has detected a vulnerability on the Web3 gaming ecosystem development platform Enjin, resulting in losses of approximately $142,000. Enjin's ERC-1155 "Crypto Items" allows each item to be transferred via a dedicated item adapter. An attacker registered and used a malicious transfer adapter that bypassed the owner approval check, allowing the vulnerable contract to call transferFrom and extract ENJ-supported items from about 52 unrelated holders' wallets without approval. The attacker then called melt on each stolen item, redeeming 500 ENJ for each item from the platform's reserves.
