DoubleZero Integrates Kalshi Election Market Data to Support November Midterm Elections
Market data distribution platform DoubleZero Edge announced on Wednesday that it has integrated Kalshi's election and political prediction market data, adding new categories including sports event contracts and cryptocurrency perpetual contracts. Andy Ross, head of institutional business at Kalshi, stated that the election market allows institutions to track real-time changes in market expectations surrounding political events. DoubleZero Edge will incorporate Kalshi's political market data into institutional workflows, providing new tools for pricing risk, managing exposure, and adjusting positions. Prediction markets have been gaining momentum since the 2024 election cycle began, with platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket reaching valuations in the tens of billions of dollars. According to Reuters, as of mid-August, the trading volume of some U.S. election prediction markets has exceeded $133 million, surpassing levels from the same period in 2024. As the midterm elections on November 3 approach, election-related trading volumes continue to rise, and institutions increasingly view prediction markets as a channel for obtaining real-time information on political and economic trends. This expansion is being launched against this backdrop.
