Ethereum Sepolia Upgrade Target Set for October 6 at 10:53 PM

The target date for the activation of the Sepolia testnet for Ethereum's upcoming upgrade, Glamsterdam, has been adjusted to October 6 at 10:53 PM. The date for mainnet implementation is yet to be determined. Developers set this target during the ACDC 186th meeting on September 3, which is about a week later than the previously discussed date of September 28. The target date is a provisional agreement among developers, adjusted due to issues with devnet stabilization. The latest devnet-9 has not yet been finalized, and issues with network transitions were also discovered in devnet-8. Additional updates for clients are needed in EIP-8037. Developers plan to further operate devnet-10, and if stability is not confirmed, the Sepolia upgrade schedule may be delayed again. Sepolia is a public testnet that tests functionality and client compatibility before applying upgrades to the Ethereum mainnet. With the Sepolia schedule remaining in a provisional stage, the activation date for the Hudi testnet has also not been determined. The official Ethereum roadmap indicates that the mainnet implementation for Glamsterdam is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
