Funeral of Franco Baresi in Milan, Milan legends present

Franco Baresi, considered one of the greatest defenders in football history, passed away at the age of 66. His funeral took place on Tuesday at the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan, where a crowd gathered to pay their respects. Fans displayed a banner that read: "Franco Baresi. Immortal legend, an inimitable flag that will never stop waving. Goodbye, Captain." Former Milan players, such as Marco Van Basten, Roberto Donadoni, Demetrio Albertini, Massimo Ambrosini, and Alessandro Costacurta, carried his coffin. Also present were Paolo Maldini, Roberto Baggio, Dida, Daniele Massaro, and Dejan Savicevic, as well as Italy's new head coach, Claudio Ranieri. Baresi played 719 matches for Milan over 20 seasons, winning six Serie A titles, three European Cups, two Intercontinental Cups, and four Italian Super Cups. Milan retired his number 6 jersey in his honor. Baresi was capped 81 times for Italy, being part of the team that won the World Cup in 1982 and reached the final of the 1994 World Cup.
