According to Jinshi, Goldman Sachs Vice Chairman and former Dallas Federal Reserve President Kaplan stated that if inflation remains high, the Federal Reserve may need to raise interest rates as early as September. Kaplan pointed out that if inflation data does not cool down before September, taking action would be a wise move. In addition, the market turned hawkish after Federal Reserve Chairman Waller hinted that they remain focused on combating inflation, with traders selling short-term government bonds, pushing up some yields.
