Javier Milei Receives Credentials from Apostolic Nuncio Michael Wallace Banach

President Javier Milei received the letters of credence from the new Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See, Michael Wallace Banach, in a ceremony at the Casa Rosada. This formalization represents a step towards a possible visit from Pope Leo XIV to Argentina. Accompanied by Chancellor Pablo Quirno, Milei welcomed the papal representative, who will begin organizing the Pope's trip. It is speculated that the visit could take place in November, although there is no official confirmation from the Vatican. Banach also met with the President of the Argentine Episcopal Conference, Marcelo Colombo, and other ecclesiastical leaders. The arrival of the nuncio has renewed expectations about a regional tour by Leo XIV, which could include Uruguay and Peru.
