JPMorgan Predicts Non-Farm Payroll Data Will Impact U.S. Stock Market

JPMorgan's market intelligence team expects that the S&P 500 index is more likely to weaken following the release of U.S. non-farm payroll data this Friday. The team believes that an increase of 30,000 to 70,000 jobs is a reasonable range for the market, with analysts anticipating an addition of 55,000 jobs. Stronger non-farm payroll data could push up bond yields, dragging down the stock market. The team points out that job growth will lead to increased consumer spending and bolster companies' confidence in hiring. However, if the data falls significantly short of expectations, it could reignite market concerns about stagflation.
