Kalshi is now the official prediction market partner of CNN, and its data will be used for real-time display on news programs.
BlockBeats News, December 3rd, Prediction market platform Kalshi announced that it has become the official prediction market partner of CNN. Its real-time probability data will be integrated into CNN's news coverage, led by Chief Data Analyst Harry Enten. CNN will receive Kalshi's real-time data support on the probability of future events in politics, culture, and more, and will enable real-time information bars based on Kalshi data in relevant sections.
Kalshi stated that its platform has become an essential tool for politicians, media organizations, and financial market observers to anticipate future events. Previously, competitor Polymarket also mentioned on CBS's "60 Minutes" program that prediction markets are "the most accurate prediction tool currently available to humanity." The combined total trading volume of the two has exceeded $45 billion, with institutions such as Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, Robinhood, and ICE all partnering with prediction market platforms.
Despite the increasing mainstream acceptance, the prediction market industry still faces regulatory controversies. Kalshi was recently involved in a nationwide class-action lawsuit, accused of providing sports betting services without a gambling license and misleading consumers. (The Block)
