The company has already returned $532 million to shareholders as of April 30, 2025, through $445 million in share repurchases and $87 million in dividends. This commitment to shareholder returns is supported by a quarterly dividend of $0.44 per share, reflecting an 8% annualized increase.NRG’s strategic initiatives, including the acquisition of a premier power portfolio from LS Power, are expected to enhance its generation fleet and drive long-term value for shareholders. The transaction, set to close in the first quarter of 2026, will add 13 GW of natural gas-fired generation and a 6 GW C&I VPP platform to NRG’s portfolio. This acquisition aligns with NRG’s strategy to capitalize on tightening power markets and leverage the demand supercycle in the energy sector.Disclaimer: The author does not hold or have a position in any securities discussed in the article.
