NVIDIA Plans to Acquire Hugging Face for Over $13 Billion
NVIDIA is in negotiations to acquire the AI platform Hugging Face, with the deal valued at over $13 billion. This could become NVIDIA's largest transaction to date. The two parties have engaged in serious discussions over the past few weeks, but no agreement has been reached, and the negotiations could still fall through. Microsoft had previously met with Hugging Face but has had no further contact since. At the end of last year, Hugging Face rejected NVIDIA's offer of a $500 million investment, which would have valued Hugging Face at $7 billion if successful. Hugging Face has stated that it does not wish to have a controlling investor that could influence decision-making.
