Obita CEO Zhang Dayong: AI Drives Payment Efficiency, Cross-Border Payments Still Require T+1 to T+7

On August 29, at the "AI × New Finance - Innovation Global Tour: Hong Kong Station and Yangtze Stars Program Launch Conference," Zhang Dayong, co-founder and CEO of Obita, stated that AI is compressing the time for contracts, codes, and business decisions to seconds. However, traditional cross-border payments still require T+1 to T+7, highlighting the efficiency gap that will drive the reconstruction of payment infrastructure. Zhang pointed out that blockchain and compliant stablecoins can reduce the multiple intermediary banks in traditional cross-border payments, achieving near real-time fund settlement. It is expected that by 2025, the on-chain transaction volume of stablecoins will reach approximately $33 trillion, but the proportion actually used in the real economy remains low. The key to the next phase is to address compliance, security, and enterprise application issues to enable stablecoins to truly enter cross-border trade.
