PlanB Opposes Bitcoin BIP-110 Proposal

By: rootdata|2026/07/25 13:50:02

Renowned analyst PlanB opposes the Bitcoin BIP-110 proposal, arguing that supporters of the fork do not understand the decentralized nature of Bitcoin. He points out that Bitcoin is a decentralized bearer asset, and enthusiasts have a stronger aversion to spam than a supportive attitude towards forks, also mentioning the reasons for the failure of the BCH fork. BIP-110 is a temporary soft fork proposal that plans to add seven consensus restrictions over approximately a year, aiming to reduce non-payment data that can be embedded in transactions, lower the burden on nodes, and curb spam data, making Bitcoin more focused on its monetary use. Currently, the miner support rate for BIP-110 is only about 1%, far below the required 55%, making its prospects bleak and nearly impossible to become a formal rule of the Bitcoin main chain. The final outcome will be revealed after the mandatory signaling window opens around August 7-8.
