Strategic Bitcoin Returns Drop by 66%
The Bitcoin returns of Strategy have fallen from 13.3% on May 25 to a recent 4.5%, prompting a reevaluation of Michael Saylor's Bitcoin holding model. This represents a decrease of about 66% over the past two months, shifting the focus of the debate from BTC prices to the company's funding structure. As of the 29th, BTC was trading at $64,500, down 0.2% over the last 24 hours. Peter Schiff warned on the 27th that Bitcoin returns could turn negative by 2026, also expressing confusion over the 7% rise in Strategy's stock price. Schiff criticized the metrics released by Strategy, pointing out that even if the number of shares increases due to funding, the per-share BTC holdings would not be diluted if the total BTC held by shareholders increases. Strategy has previously sold 3,588 BTC for approximately $216 million to fund preferred stock dividends. In terms of price, CryptoNews mentioned the $58,000 range as the first support level, warning that if this level breaks, it could fall to $50,000 and then potentially to $20,000. Conversely, if the inflow of funds into spot ETFs recovers, the possibility of a recovery to $70,000 is also being raised. This debate tests whether companies holding BTC can simultaneously continue funding, dividends, and expansion of holdings.
