Triple-A Suffers $9.7 Million Loss from Multi-Chain Hot Wallet Hack
Triple-A has suffered a massive hacking incident. According to blockchain security firm PeckShield, attackers targeted hot wallets across multiple networks, including Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Tron (TRX), and Ton (TON), stealing over $9.7 million. The breach occurred between the 24th and 25th, with the stolen funds quickly moved into stablecoins and liquid assets before being bridged to the Ethereum network. Currently, the wallet holds 5,226.66 ETH, worth approximately $9.72 million. PeckShield reports that the incident targeted hot wallet infrastructure connected to the external internet. After gaining access to the wallet, the attackers are believed to have stolen assets and exchanged them on decentralized exchanges. The funds have been consolidated into a single Ethereum wallet, with the largest transaction being 4,140 ETH. Triple-A, a payment infrastructure provider linking fiat currency and virtual assets, highlights the importance of multi-chain wallet management and private key protection in light of this incident. Over eight hours after the breach, investigations into the cause and extent of the damage are ongoing, with asset custody and wallet permission distribution emerging as key challenges.
