Ukrposhta Sells Historic Building in Ivano-Frankivsk for 20 Million UAH
On August 28, Ukrposhta and the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council signed a contract for the sale of a historic building located at 19 Pryvokzalna Street for 20 million UAH. The proceeds from the sale will be directed towards capital investments and the restoration of damaged infrastructure. The building, which covers an area of about 1,200 square meters, was previously used for railway mail but became inactive after the launch of a new sorting center. The property was put up for auction in the ProZorro.Sales system, where the highest bid reached 20 million UAH. Since the building is a monument of architecture, Ukrposhta informed the cultural heritage protection authority about the sale conditions. The Ivano-Frankivsk Society exercised its right of pre-emption and purchased the property at the auction price. Ukrposhta's General Director Igor Smeliansky noted that the sale of assets had been blocked by more than 40 lawsuits from the prosecutor's office during three years of war, but opportunities for such operations expanded after legislative changes. The 20 million UAH received will be used for infrastructure restoration.
