Vozinha Receives Massive Support at Colo Colo
The Monumental Stadium in Chile welcomed nearly 35,000 fans to greet Cape Verdean goalkeeper Vozinha, who joined Colo Colo after his outstanding performance in the 2026 World Cup. The event began at 5 PM with musical performances by DJ Rocka, Forest, Juan Sativo, and Garras de Amor. Vozinha took the microphone and expressed his gratitude: "It has been very, very incredible. I am very happy and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support from the greatest in Chile. Let's go Colo Colo." He also admitted that he did not expect such a warm reception and was happy for the opportunity to play at the club. After taking a victory lap, giving balls to the spectators, and receiving the jersey with the number 29, Vozinha, whose official name is Josimar José Évora Dias, left the stadium amidst applause. The 40-year-old goalkeeper joined Colo Colo, the most successful club in Chile, after his time at Chaves in the Portuguese second division and has played for clubs in Angola, Cyprus, Moldova, and Slovakia. During the World Cup, he became a sensation on social media, helping his country advance to the group stage before being eliminated by Argentina in the Round of 16.
