Weiyuan Synthesis completes 300 million yuan A+ round financing, jointly launching an AI biological computing open cooperation platform

Synthetic biotechnology developer Weiyuan Synthesis completed a 300 million A+ round of financing in 2026, with investments from Henan Investment Group Huirong Fund and Mr. Tan Ruiqing. This round of financing will be used to expand the boundaries of AI biological computing applications, increase investment in core technology research and development, and facilitate scenario-based implementation.

At the same time, Weiyuan Synthesis, in collaboration with Stanford University, Princeton University, Peking University, ByteDance, NVIDIA, and other institutions, launched the open collaboration platform PoseX at ICLR 2026, aimed at solving the molecular docking challenges in real-world scenarios, and conducted systematic evaluations of 24 mainstream methods. Test results show that top AI docking methods (such as SurfDock) and co-folding methods (such as AlphaFold3) have significantly surpassed traditional physical models in terms of accuracy and robustness in cross-conformation docking tasks. Currently, Weiyuan Synthesis has completed the research and development and industrialization of several products, including altritol, lutein, and mannitol, and is accelerating the layout of product pipelines related to methanol biomanufacturing.
