In the deep-water ports of Greater Odessa, there has been a sharp decline in prices for food wheat due to high military risks for maritime exports. The main reason for the decrease in value has been the constant strikes by Russia on Ukraine's port infrastructure, resulting in the country losing about a third of its grain transshipment capacity. Exporters are forced to factor in new risks into the final cost of products, including significant increases in ship rental prices, rising insurance costs for vessels, and financial losses due to transport downtime during air alerts. As of the morning of July 17, prices for third-class food wheat have fallen to $195–206 per ton (CPT-port), which is $5–8 per ton lower than at the end of last week. The forecast for the Ukrainian wheat harvest has increased to 24 million tons.
