ZachXBT: UK Hacker Danny Suspectedly Arrested, $18.58 Million in Crypto Assets Seized
BlockBeats News, December 5th, On-chain sleuth ZachXBT revealed in his personal channel that UK hacker Danny / Meech (aka Danish Zulfiqar / Khan) has reportedly been arrested by law enforcement, with his crypto assets seized.
Prior to this, efforts had been made to track and identify him, as he is suspected to be involved in the $243 million crypto theft from Genesis creditors in August 2024, with other individuals involved being Malone, Veer, Chen, and Jeandiel.
Danny was also involved in the August 2023 Kroll SIM card swap attack, which exposed personal information of creditors of BlockFi, Genesis, and FTX, leading to targeted social engineering scams that have resulted in over $300 million in losses.
A few hours ago, multiple addresses associated with him that ZachXBT had been tracking merged and transferred $18.58 million in crypto assets to an address starting with 0xb37d, following a pattern similar to past law enforcement asset seizure actions.
