ACE Robotics Chairman Wang Xiaogang anticipates that humanoid robots will achieve a significant breakthrough in embodied intelligence by the end of 2024. This advancement is expected to stem from improvements in AI models and the collection of real-world training data. ACE Robotics, founded in July 2025 and backed by Ant Group and SenseTime, has raised over 100 million dollars in the first half of 2026 and plans to pursue an IPO as soon as possible. Despite the rapid development of large language models like ChatGPT, robots still face challenges in performing diverse tasks in unpredictable environments due to insufficient training data. Embodied AI allows robots to perceive their surroundings and make informed decisions based on learned behaviors. Wang noted that the industry has accumulated around 100,000 hours of data, which is inadequate for training comprehensive embodied models. Other companies are also exploring similar technologies, including Boston Dynamics with its Atlas humanoid and Alibaba's Qwen-Robot Suite, both aimed at enhancing robotic capabilities.
