Applications for the 2026 Bitcoin-focused pitch competition are now open, following last year's event that attracted over 4000 participants from 64 countries. The competition, funded by the Plan ₿ VC Fund and the Plan ₿ Foundation, features a 'Shark Tank'-style format combined with documentary-style production. This year, the finalist pool expands to 12 projects, including eight for-profit and four nonprofit, competing for three prizes of 100000 dollars in incubation, acceleration, or relocation services. Finalists are selected based on alignment with values of individual freedom, privacy, decentralization, and resilience; execution ability, sustainability, and market feasibility; and integration within the Plan ₿ ecosystem. Applications are open from August 13 to September 25, with finalists notified starting September 30. The finals will take place from October 25 to 27 at PoW Space Lugano, following a coaching day for finalists. Winners will be announced at the end of the second day, with episodes airing online in January 2027. The first season launched in 2025, offering over 850000 dollars in prizes and featuring a judging panel that included notable figures from the crypto industry. Cypher Tank aims to enhance visibility and establish Lugano as a global hub for Bitcoin and freedom-tech innovation.
