Strikes on Warehouses Lead to Product Shortages in Kyiv Supermarkets

In Kyiv's supermarkets, shelves have temporarily emptied of certain products due to strikes by the Russian army on Ukrainian warehouses. Experts assure that there is no food shortage, but stores will need from several days to a week to restore their usual assortment. Ivan Uss, the chief consultant at the Center for Foreign Policy Studies, predicts that the lack of products in certain stores will not lead to price increases if supplies resume within two weeks. Retail chains are changing their logistics approaches, moving to distributed networks of smaller hubs. The Novus chain has switched to direct deliveries from key contractors after the destruction of its central warehouse. On the night of August 5, a Russian attack struck ten warehouse facilities in the Kyiv region, covering a total area of about 100,000 square meters. Novus's warehouse capacities were damaged, and fires broke out at two distribution centers of Fozzy Group, resulting in the deaths of six workers.
