Strive Bitcoin treasury reaches 20000 BTC, share dilution reduces per-share holdings
Strive, the Bitcoin treasury company, reached 20000 BTC last week, but the amount held per effective common share decreased. Strive purchased 79 BTC from July 20 to July 24 at an average price of about 65723 dollars per coin, increasing its holdings from 19921 BTC to 20000 BTC. During the same week, Strive's Effective Common Shares Outstanding rose by 430000, from 83669973 to 84099973. This growth in shares outpaced the Bitcoin purchase, causing the BTC held per effective common share to fall from about 23809 satoshis on July 17 to 23781 satoshis on July 24, a decline of approximately 0.12%. Strive also reports Assumed Fully Diluted Shares Outstanding, where BTC per assumed fully diluted share declined by about 0.10%. The company did not disclose the reason for the net increase in Effective Common Shares Outstanding or connect the proceeds from additional shares to the 79-BTC purchase. The average purchase price suggests the 79 BTC cost about 5192000 dollars, while cash and cash equivalents fell by 3400000 dollars during the week, leaving unclear how the acquisition was financed. Crossing 20000 BTC expanded Strive's treasury in absolute terms, but the week's activity resulted in slightly less Bitcoin per share.
