The Government Officialized a New Salary Increase for Military, Security Forces, and Public Employees: How Much Will It Be
The Government officially announced on Monday a series of salary increases for employees of the National Public Administration, the Armed Forces, and federal security forces, with increments that will begin to take effect in September and will extend until December. The modifications were published in the Official Bulletin through decrees 832/2026 and 834/2026 and resolution 844/2026 from the Ministry of National Security.
For state workers covered by the collective agreement homologated by decree 214/06, the scheme includes four consecutive monthly increases. The update applies to both permanent and non-permanent staff of the National Public Administration.
Decree 832/2026 established an increase of 1.90% starting in September, 1.80% from October, 1.60% from November, and 1.50% in December. The percentages are applied to the salaries in effect on the last day of the previous month and cumulatively on the updated base for each period.
The same regulation extended the Incentive Award for Attendance until the end of the year, with updated amounts, and maintained the fixed non-bonusable remuneration amounts established by decree 56/20 without modifications. Additionally, an exceptional fixed amount of $80,000, which is remunerative and non-bonusable, will be paid once with the December salaries.
The salary agreement, finalized on August 25 with a cumulative improvement of 6.8% plus the bonus, was accepted by the Union of Civil Personnel of the Nation (UPCN), while the Association of State Workers (ATE) rejected the proposal and announced measures of force, considering the increase insufficient.
In parallel, the incomes of security personnel were also updated. In the case of the Argentine National Gendarmerie (GNA), the modification affects the monthly salary, the supplement for Neighborhood Prevention Functions, and the compensation for Service Overtime for personnel with military status as gendarmes.
For the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA), the monthly salary and the compensation for Service Overtime for active police personnel were updated. In the Argentine Federal Police (PFA), the changes affected the monthly salary, the supplement for Zone, Additional Police Service, and compensations for Custody and Railway Custody.
There were also modifications for the Airport Security Police (PSA) and the Federal Penitentiary Service (SPF). In the first case, certain concepts established by decree 836/08 and the compensation for Service Overtime were updated. For the SPF, the changes included the monthly salary and various supplements and compensations, including those related to housing, southern zone, academic title, travel expenses, and funeral expenses.
Decree 834/2026 also provided for increases for teaching staff of the Central Administration and related agencies that receive remuneration per teaching hour. The value was set at $8,982 from September, $9,144 from October, $9,290 from November, and $9,429 from December 2026.
The update also reached certain positions of the National School of Librarians, dependent on the National Library. Meanwhile, the position of Bedel of the Higher Institute of Radio Education (ISER), dependent on the National Communications Entity (ENACOM), will receive $122,664 in September, $124,872 in October, $126,870 in November, and $128,773 in December.
The scheme also included military personnel serving in Antarctica. The additional remuneration was set at $1,598,124 from September, $1,626,890 from October, $1,652,920 from November, and $1,677,714 from December.
Finally, decree 834/2026 provided for the update of the remuneration of the members of the Military Curia, or Central Office of the Military Bishopric, according to the staggered values established in its Annex IV.
